Found in the Coachella Valley, the town is close to another well-liked visitor spot at Palm Springs.
The area is celebrated for its many championship golfing courses, fine tennis and water sports facilities.
It is also famous for its desert rock scene, so called due to local bands that made it to the massively,eg Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age.
